Guide: Get started

Make a Discord server your eris home

Run /make-home in a server only you're in, and eris answers you in every channel there, no mention needed.

  1. 1Invite bot
  2. 2Intent on
  3. 3/make-home
  4. 4Confirm

Make a channel for each part of your life, like #work, #travel and #ideas. Each is its own conversation, with its own context.

Keep it a server only you're in. eris treats its channels as private to you, so replies there can include your private information: memory, files and tool results. Anyone you let in can read them.

  1. In Settings, under Discord, press Add to a server, and pick your own.
  2. In the Developer Portal, open your app, then Bot → Privileged Gateway Intents. Turn on Message Content Intent, then Save Changes.
  3. As the server's owner, run /make-home, read the warning, and press Make it home.
  • Skipped step 2? eris tells you how to turn it on. Until then, mention it.
  • eris answers only you there.
  • /leave-home turns it off. You can make more than one server home.
  • To keep a channel on one device, like #work on your work machine, pin it with /pin-to-instance.
