eris answered twice, or not at all

Usually a device came or went just as you sent the message.

  • Your devices agree on one to answer each chat. Right as one comes online or goes offline, they can briefly disagree, and that message gets two replies or none. Send it again.
  • No reply at all? Check your Discord user ID is in Settings. eris ignores everyone else, without a word.
  • In a server, mention the bot. It doesn't see other messages there.
  • Two replies every time? Something else is using the same bot token, like another account. Give each its own bot.
